Suspect In Pleasant Hill Nordstrom Stand-Off Arrested – In A New Sweater

NordyBust

A man wanted for rape and eluding police before taking refuge in the Pleasant Hill Nordstrom Rack was taken into custody by store Loss Prevention officers around noon Wednesday.

Details of the capture remain sketchy and the overall scenario is confusing as police said earlier in social media releases that they believed the man had donned other clothing and escaped with store employees when the store was evacuated by police Tuesday evening.

That didn’t quite add up but, you know, we rolled with it until photographer Craig Cannon reported police activity at the rear of the store around noon Wednesday, long after the majority of police had apparently folded their tents and left the scene.

Turns out that Pleasant Hill police deployed a detective to remain in the store after tactical officers cleared the scene on the off chance the suspect was still inside. When the store opened Wednesday the suspect dropped from the ceiling and Loss Prevention staff tackled him as he tried to flee. The Pleasant Hill detective made the arrest official.

Brief glimpses of the still unidentified suspect have shown him in a new sweater, reportedly taken from the store inventory, during his overnight stay.

I was told by a friend with PHPD that they had a detective remain at the store after SWAT cleared believing the suspect might still be in the ceiling somewhere. Low and behold after the store opened the guy dropped from the ceiling and Loss Prevention staff tackled him as he tried to flee and was arrested by the Detective. Crazy story

That’s it. It’s a standard and approved police tactic that often works but obviously the additional misdirection by police proved confusing…

Crazy as the story is, it gets even crazier…..his name is Joey Ramos and the charge of rape was on his ex gf ( my good friend) who he also has repeatedly beat to an inch of her life more then a half a dozen times. I hope this POS gets the same treatment from his prison gf as he inflicted on my loved one!

“police said earlier in social media releases that they believed the man had donned other clothing and escaped with store employees when the store was evacuated by police Tuesday evening”. The police may have said this on social media only to help flush out the suspect thinking he was safe.

I totally agree. Law enforcement has their own strategy, and some people are too naive to see through it. They’d rather blame the police and coddle criminals.

If the police really felt that way, they’d keep it close to the vest. They knew exactly what they were doing.

I am sure the K-9s followed his trail and they pointed out to police that he went up in the ceiling. Good Boys:)
