An air ambulance was requested following a vehicle crash into a home in the 10000 block of Broadmoor on Monday, the car catching fire inside the residence and leaving the driver with burn injuries.

The crash was reported at 9:05pm after a car rolled into the home on Broadmoor, knocking the driver unconscious and briefly trapping two other occupants.

A Samaritan, unknown if a passersby, first responder or the homeowner, used an extinguisher on the fire – which left the driver with second-degree burn injuries before it could be put out.

Firefighters requested an air ambulance to evacuate the burn victim and set up a Landing Zone at nearby Montevideo Elementary, the chopper directed in to the school baseball field at 9:39pm.

A good reminder on being prepared with our fire extinguishers. So sorry this happened to the injured vehicle occupants and those in the two homes affected on Foxboro Cir. I can’t figure out how a crash could have happened at that location/angle.

Yes, Jillian… someone was quick on the trigger and had the foresight to have an extinguisher on hand and that likely prevented this from being far worse than it turned out to be..
