Highway 24 Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Lafayette BART Parking Lot Wednesday

Driver rolls car off Highway 24, into Lafayette BART lot.

A driver was in police custody after taking his wife and child on a wild ride off westbound Highway 24 Wednesday night, crashing through a tree and on into the parking lot at Lafayette BART – briefly fleeing on foot before he was located, bruised and bleeding, and arrested.

News24/680 Flash subscribers described the crash, one motorist behind the family’s Infiniti QX30 when it left the freeway and “powdered” a tree apparently loaded with pollen, sending up a yellowish cloud another Flasher said looked like “mustard gas” before coming to rest in the lot after clipping a parked car.

Witnesses reported a man and a woman carrying a child running from the crash scene in the direction of the Deer Hill Crosses shortly after motorists reported the incident at 9:51p.m. The woman and child were quickly located but the male remained at large for some time before he was located on BART property, bleeding from unspecified injuries.

Police descended on the area, sent up a drone in an attempt to locate the car’s occupants, and eventually located the trio, arresting the man on unspecified charges.

So who does the Infiniti belong to? Surely not Mr. 187 on the navel.

Oh what a nice, upstanding citizen: Crashes the car and leaves his family in it behind while he runs away. Oh.. let’s not judge him by his tattoos. *sarcasm

We’re not big on tattoos (that whole needles thing) but from past experience our understanding is that “slipping” is street parlance for getting caught off guard and “187” is a reference to Section 187 of the California Penal Code – aka homicide.
