Hit And Run Crash Causes Traffic Logjam In Orinda Wednesday
A morning crash on Camino Pablo in Orinda triggered a traffic backup and California Highway Patrol investigation as additional information on the incident came to light.
First reports of a vehicle collision possibly involving a motorcyclist first reached this site at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday with police searching to located the precise location of the collision and eventually determining that a hit and run driver was involved.

Still jammed out there
Saw someone on the freeway?
Crazy traffic out there after this. Is that standard or was there something unusual a bout this crash or crashes???
Police sent out no pertinent info other than to avoid the area but we believe this incident and resultant traffic mess was the result of consecutive, related incidents ending with another crash and contact with a suspect on Highway 24. It was definitely unusual and, as most of us were able to see firsthand, had a crippling impact on traffic in the affected area.
How come we didn’t get a notice from CWS? I thought that is what it was for. We seem to hear about South Orinda but not North.
Unknown, Patricia. We Flashed what we knew as it happened, but it may be time for a query to CWS administrators. As an aside, we’re hearing this… A LOT.
