Two-Alarm Fire Damages Martinez Home Saturday

Neighbor’s reports of a tree on fire behind a home at 5460 Alhambra Valley Road brought out firefighters who were met by heavy fire in the attic and roof of the single-story residence upon their arrival at 4:03am.

Crews initiated a search for residents and immediately called for a second alarm as fire spread along the roofline.

No residents were believed found as crews swept the residence and turned their attention to the roof, which suffered a partial collapse, while dealing with the home’s extensive solar system.

The cause of the blaze and estimate of damage were not immediately available.
