Double Shooting Under Investigation In Unincorporated San Ramon
Contra Costa deputy sheriffs responded to a “medical police” call at a residence in the 18000 block of Bollinger Canyon Road Wednesday afternoon – ultimately finding two people down with apparent gunshot wounds.
The incident was reported at 1:05pm. Police did not confirm reports that a man and woman were found inside the residence, the male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The unidentified female victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified wounds and no update was given as to her condition.
In a short release, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman said detectives and crime lab personnel are continuing to investigate this incident, adding that there are no outstanding suspects or impending threat to the community.

They may let you in. Locked down pretty tight…
O no. I hope this isn’t what I think it is. There sure seems to be a lot happening lately and this site is one of the few places left to find out about them. Keep doing what you do!!!!
The suspect is dead and I hope the victim makes it.
Are you police???
I was the police.

Attempted Murder Suicide
And you know this because…? That’s a likely scenario, but we haven’t heard of any official pronouncement.
If there are “no outstanding suspects and no impending threat to the community” of course it’s an attempted murder/suicide. If it was anything else, there would be an outstanding suspect, as well as a threat to the community. Come on. You don’t have to be the police, nor do you need an official pronouncement to figure this out.
We’ll leave the armchair sleuthing to folks who do it best but we lean heavily on verifiable information and there has been none past what we were able to glean in the early stages of this story. And, since we don’t carry badges, we don’t speculate on likely scenarios even though, of course, the one you offer is the one we came to privately about a minute after we had our information confirmed. Cases we – and the pros, too – thought open-and-shut have turned out to be neither too many times in the past for us to change our approach.
JD, as a veteran journalist of course you have to heavily on verifiable information. The rest of us are just everyday people commenting on the internet. Please keep in mind the whole idea of internet commenting is posting our opinion, including speculating. Asking someone if they’re the “police” is ridiculous when it’s abundantly clear what happened, to armchair sleuths anyway. It’s not an uncommon scenario, and if it was anything else there would be a suspect at large.
Yes, having covered oh, about three or four thousand of these terrible things in past years we do draft our theories privately though our intuition has rarely failed us. We’re just not allowed to have opinions (unless clearly labeled as such) and we fully understand the tenets behind online commenting. Thanks for reaching out.
Murder/Suicide is my guess and I was the police.

I’m praying for my neighbors. This is a horrible situation. They are good people. Do not guess what happened. I hope their children din’t read comments from people who don’t know them or the situation Again. Please pray for the family.
