Garage Fire Gets Sudsy In Pleasant Hill Thursday
Fire in the garage of a home in the 2000 block of Oak Park Boulevard left the structure heavily damaged but resulted in no apparent injuries when it was reported at 6:40pm.
Firefighters responded to reports of smoke and flame in the garage and made entry with a metal saw to get to the flames. Firefighters did not disclose what had burned or how the blaze started but an appliance was believed to have been the culprit.
Foam was eventually used to suppress the blaze.
No formal declaration of cause was issued.
The fire drew a sizable response from firefighters with police closing Oak Park Boulevard for about an hour to allow apparatus to maneuver.
