Benicia Teen Shoots And Kills Relative During Reported Domestic Violence Incident

A 14-year-old Benicia teen has been questioned in connection with the death of a relative – believed to be the boy’s father – during an alleged domestic violence incident in the family’s London Circle home Thursday evening.

Police and Benicia Fire Department crews were dispatched to the residence in response to a report of a gunshot there shortly after 10pm.

First responders reportedly found a man mortally wounded by a single gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures. The unidentified subject was eventually declared deceased at the scene.

Neighbors indicated that the shooting occurred during an alleged act of domestic violence by the deceased upon a female member of the multi-member family.

Initial reports were that the shooting may have been classified as an act of self-defense, though police issued no formal declaration of potential charges or arrest.
