Walnut Creek Police Investigating Downtown Armed Robbery/Assault Saturday

Two victims told police in Walnut Creek they were accosted by an armed man, assaulted and robbed on a city street Saturday night – the suspect brandishing a small, Glock-type pistol and escaping with a man’s wallet.

The incident was believed to have occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the area of N. Broadway and Lincoln Avenue. Witnesses said the suspect left the area after assaulting one or both of his victims.

He is believed to have escaped in a black Lexus.

      There was another incident, we believe a strong-arm robbery, in the Starbridge area early this morning. We believe police may have recovered some of the items stolen in that incident.
