A driver left Pacheco Boulevard at high speed as 2025 approached, sheared a high pressure hydrant, flew at least 300 feet through the air and landed more than 30 feet down in The Grayson Creek Flood Control Channel overnight.
Firefighters rescued the driver – in critical condition but alive – and an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
Crews were also left to tame a 75-100 foot water fountain flooded some nearby businesses. The crash was located in the 5700 Block of Pacheco Blvd, Pacheco at 11:21 PM NYE.
Thanks to Battalion Chief Paul Silva for the update.
Next year she’s going to try to jump the fountains at Caesar’s Palace..
Amazed she lived.
Ban cars.
How fast do you have to be going to do that much damage and travel 300 feet in the air? Asking for a friend.
That took some concentration.
What is her status is she still in the hospital?
Unknown, Jason, as patient information is confidential.
Thank you I live at the business she crashed at we were first on seen
Definitely a sight to see out there that night.
Let us no who she is if you find out
It seems the firefighters tried to close the fire hydrant line, why does it take so long to find the right valve? Can any one help me understand?
We have some readers who have done it and can answer, AC, but we’ll just say it’s not an easy fix: https://www.instagram.com/p/DDFTInYvRHs/?img_index=4
