Burglars Smash Their Way Through Danville Tuesday
A number of Danville businesses were struck by commercial burglars in the wee hours Tuesday morning, thieves cracking expensive glass frontages and making off with seemingly insignificant items in a virtual reply of past break-ins.
As many as 7 businesses were targeted, many appearing to concentrate on their re-opening as passersby stopped to gawk at shuttered frontages and evidence of the thefts left behind.
Video was reportedly captured of a crew of at least three individuals at work but there has been no immediate word of arrests, if any.

Almost a dozen businesses in one night. Mostly in the center of town. Those cameras and police patrols sure seem to have the burglars running scared.
Why not, something like a burglary will get you probation, no prison time.

…as a 35 year Bay Area L. E. veteran, now retired, this really bothers me….when I toiled as a young beat cop for two different agencies, on the A.M watch, your main job was to prevent commercial burglaries by preventive patrol, or find them if they were obvious (window smash) during your shift. If you didn’t accomplish that, and your day shift relief got stuck with the report, you would hear about it. All of these on the main street, and nothing reported??….were any of the businesses alarm protected??…..really troublesome….weak as water…….I think Firestone 11R would agree…..
Thanks, MI 6 (How’s the Spy Game?) – yessir, this last blitz reminds us of similar streaks these crews went on a year or so ago. We know they’re still on the job but this was a pretty bold flurry. We’re surprised they didn’t hit anywhere else. And unless things have changed recently we’re pretty sure Danville is covered by overlapping cameras and alarms – but as we’re sure you know those things, while helpful, don’t put the bracelets on the bad guys.
