Child Hurt In Danville Auto Vs. Pedestrian Collision Monday

Danville residents expressed concern through the night after word of an auto vs. child collision near Vista Grande Elementary began to circulate Monday – neighbors calling and writing for word of any update on the crash on Diablo Road near Richard Lane.

A 12-year-old girl was struck by a car at that location at 5:31 p.m.

Danville Police Chief Allan Shields wrote that the child was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and released. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Diablo Road was closed in both directions between Richard Lane and Arroyo Drive due to the crash, reopening at 9:30 pm.
