What is “Israel” in all of this?
As we learned in the movie “Finding Forrester”, that is NOT a soup question, is it!

    • As we learned in movie Billy Madison – David, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

      • Granted, the “soup question” reference is oblique, as intended. It was a movie reference for any movie fan who might have enjoyed Finding Forrester. You would have to have seen the movie to comprehend the metaphorical meaning of a soup question (why does your soup foam and mine doesn’t) vs a question for which there are no easy factual answers. You need not take such offense at my posing the question, a question you thought unworthy of discussion, apparently.

What is the “Israel” people are so fervently in favor of and opposed to???

Is it a safe-haven for a long-persecuted Jewish diaspora reclaimed forcefully by an international body from Palestinian lands? Is it the current Jewish state led by ultra-nationalists? Is it the innocent peoples slaughtered and kidnapped October 07? Do those victims define what is “Israel”? Is Israel a colonial power dropping 2,000 lb bombs in densely-populated areas accompanied by pledges from persons in the government to displace the troublesome Palestinians and render Israel a safe place for Jews by making it a place only for Jews? Notwithstanding your vitriol, these are rational questions which merit consideration.
