Bathtub Death Under Investigation By San Ramon Police

SHARE

The death of a woman found in the bathtub of a Crestfield Drive apartment Tuesday has been cautiously deemed “suspicious” and remains under investigation by San Ramon police.

Investigators were awaiting results of an autopsy scheduled after the decedent, whose name has not yet been released by authorities, was discovered shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, reportedly by a male relative. Although that person was taken into custody on unrelated warrants, investigators have uncovered nothing tying the individual to the woman’s death.

An official cause of death has yet to be released and police remain circumspect in their release of any evidence uncovered either within the apartment or subsequent autopsy. The custody status of the person detained after the discovery was made remains unknown.

The male caller notified police of the discovery by 9-1-1 and related that the woman, believed to have been in her 30s, was face down in the bath and was unresponsive. Police have said there was no information to suggest any ongoing threat to the community and that the case remains under investigation.
