An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) caught fire and burned behind a home in the 400 block of Roberta Avenue in Pleasant Hill early Wednesday, the fire causing heavy damage but no reported injuries.

Initial calls for assistance began to come in around 3:17am with the first firefighters on the scene met by heavy smoke and fire from the burning unit and a firefighting scenario complicated by the presence of downed electrical wires.

All occupants were ultimately accounted for with no reports of injuries or extension of fire into the primary dwelling.

There was no immediate word on cause or estimate of damage given.
