Two-Alarm Apartment Fire Extinguished In Concord Tuesday

Firefighters responded to reports of smoke and flames in an apartment in the 4900 block of Clayton Road on Tuesday, arriving to find a fire well underway and quickly upgrading the blaze to 2-alarms.

Neighbors reported seeing someone engaging the blaze with a fire extinguisher shortly after it was reported at 6pm, someone believed to be an occupant reentering the unit in search of cats known to be inside.

Crews quickly arrived on scene, declaring the blaze under control at 6:30 p.m. with no reports of injuries.
