Armed Men Enter Alamo Home, Demand Jewelry Before Escaping Thursday
A group of as many as four armed men entered a home on Mystic Place in Alamo Thursday night, brandishing weapons and demanding jewelry from the panicked residents.
Police are looking for a crew of Hispanic males, hooded and masked, believed to be driving a newer, white SUV with black dealer plates.
The men reportedly entered the residence at approximately 8:20 p.m.
There were no reported injuries though police are still arriving at the scene (8:40pm Thursday).
Though details remain sketchy, there are unconfirmed reports that Thursday’s robbery and description of the getaway vehicle used is similar to details given after an earlier robbery in Lafayette.

Are there any other folks out there that are really upset over all this crime going on? Upset that your District attornies are not prosecuting any of these criminals anymore for social reasons? Do any of you think this is going to get any better for us citizens?

It won’t get any better until they arrest and discipline these low life scum bags that are perpetrating these crimes. They are not only destroying their communities they are putting the surrounding communities at risk! There is no justification for theft and armed robbery! Until we rid our neighborhoods of this evil famine, that has been allowed to get worse, all law-abiding citizens will continue to be in peril and experiencing the angst of continuing dangerous surroundings. No one should have to live like this, and I am fed up with it. I think we, the law-abiding people, should arm up and be able to protect ourselves! Thats the only way to circumvent these crime issues until we can get those fools out of office and replaced with real Law Enforcment advocates..

Yes, of course I’m upset. I can’t believe there are many people out there who like the idea of four armed gunman bursting into their home on a weekday evening. However, it’s obvious that people do not connect what they do in the voting booth with what is happening in our communities.

“Not Afraid” is not one to live in fear, he’s cool with how things are, and he’s totally down with armed men breaking into your house.
I think you miss the point of not living in fear. It’s perspective rather than ignorance. This type of crime may be on the rise at the moment, but fear of crime is a profit center on social media, I am told, and these trends tend to revert to the mean over time.

We have had reports of police at the entrances/exits of a school there, yes. NO threat or other action specified. Schools throughout the area have been active today.

Police and local governments should send you guys notice of tests and lockdowns and such so you can get the word out…..
This is in my very small neighborhood. Not a through street. (Everything is a dead-end!) Not exactly close to 680. I always thought those 2 factors would be a deterrent to would-be criminals looking for a fast escape.
Criminals have become so emboldened that they’ll break in at an hour when they risk encountering homeowners, in an area with only one way in and out. They know that, even if they are caught, they probably won’t face any consequences.

The question is why this home was selected?
These crews are on the lookout for jewelry, money, expensive watches while people are out & about. Then it’s follow them home and put a gun in their face.
Be aware of being followed when going home.
These crews know what their after and if you have it, they have no reservations about robbery to take your property.

If I notice someone or suspect they are following me I never go to my home. I pull over and go the other way
I am asking in all seriousness, is there any data to suggest people in home invasion robberies are not facing consequences? I don’t place that type of crime on par with a bunch of teenagers storming Walgreens because they’re bored.
