Rossmoor Grass Fire Advances On Lafayette Property; Firefighters Maneuver To Save Homes

A grass fire in the area of 1910 Skycrest on the hills overlooking Rossmoor spread to adjacent property in Lafayette, with at least one homeowner resorting to beat back the flames with a handy garden hose.

ConFire crews pounced quickly on the blaze, near the scene of at least one recent spot fire and apparently of some concern to residents in the area, many of whom contacted this site for updates on conditions and the fire’s advance. The fire was reported shortly after 4 p.m. and burned from the Rossmoor side of the ridgeline to property on Vista del Valle.

No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. The fires were reported out by 5 p.m. though crews stayed in the area to watch for flareups.
