Fake Rolex Taken In Walnut Creek Facebook Marketplace Robbery Saturday

SHARE

The planned sale of a Rolex watch outside a Walnut Creek business went wrong Saturday when one of the participants pulled what looked to be a real weapon with an extended magazine and took the faux Rolex at gunpoint.

It was not immediately clear if the watch was being sold as counterfeit or authentic. The deal had reportedly been arranged via Facebook Marketplace, buyer and seller meeting outside the Walgreen’s store, 2900 N. Main shortly after 3 p.m.

The suspect was described as a 19 to 20-year-old Hispanic male driving a maroon 2014 Acura 4-door.

No injuries were reported.

  1. I guess some folks must have good experiences with Facebook Marketplace, but all I usually hear are horror stories of some sort.
