Crews from multiple local firefighting districts responded to reports of fire burning on a steep hillside at Oakmont Drive and Oakmont Way in Walnut Creek’s Rossmoor on Sunday.
Sean McDonough made it to the fire scene, which was also beset by a simultaneous power outage possibly linked to the power lines criss-crossing the area.
Crews managed to contain the blaze to 2 1/2 very steep acres and were working to determine the precise cause.
