Fatal Crash In Walnut Creek Sunday

A two-car crash at Treat Boulevard and Alderwood Road left a Concord man dead early Sunday.

Sergio Quilici, 34, was struck by a Honda Accord at Alderwood Road and Treat Boulevard at approximately 5:42 a.m. Sunday when the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to preliminary findings from the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators said that Quilici had stopped his Nissan van, exited and was standing behind his vehicle facing westbound near the intersection when he was hit by the Honda. Both vehicles were reportedly facing westbound.

Quilici was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. The driver of the Honda, whose name has not been released, sustained severe injuries.

CHP was continuing to investigate the collision, with a spokesperson being unavailable for an update comment as of Thursday afternoon.

Westbound lanes of Treat near the crash scene were closed for investigation for much of Sunday morning.

  1. There were TWO VICTIMS in this collision of circumstances. It was an accident, one is with GOD and the other wishing he was also. My heart and prayers to both families involved.

    • There were NOT two victims here, one was the victim, the other was a17 year old reckless driver who was speeding down Treat Blvd at 70 miles an hour late for work.
      Obviously his family didn’t teach him the responsibilities of being a driver, an irresponsible kid who ruined many lives forever in a split second.
