Unrelated Burglary Calls Rattle Lamorinda Saturday

SHARE

A pair of apparently unrelated burglary calls – one believed successful, the other under investigation – brought police, their helicopters and dogs on the run Saturday.

The first incident was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. when an Orinda resident contacted police after burglars made off with several shotguns from the garage of a residence on Bobolink Road. No suspect information was immediately available although a “small, white car” was reportedly spotted leaving the neighborhood.

Later, at approximately 5 p.m., Lafayette police with backup from neighboring jurisdictions responded to a report of a burglary in the 3300 block of Betty Lane. Two persons on the property at the time were detained by police as a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s helicopter orbited overhead.

Nothing was believed taken from the residence and police were reportedly investigating a possible connection between one of the people detained and the homeowner.

    • You wouldn’t believe how many requests we’ve had for that very thing! Everyone wants to go all Mutiny On The Bounty on these guys…

      • How about:

        First offense: Stockade and Branding.

Second Offense: Tar and Feather; then Stockade and Branding.

Third Offense: Draw and Quarter; then Tar and ….. oh. wait.

  1. A few weeks ago there were three police cars with their lights on surrounding some car in the baseball park parking lot with a very unhappy looking person being questioned, so perhaps this is becoming an area of interest for those up to no good.

      • “Sometimes recovering addicts are criminals, too.” That is the stupidest and most ignorant comment I think I’ve ever read on this page – and that’s saying a lot.
