One Injured In Concord Sword Assault Sunday Night

An argument amongst a small group of individuals in a creek bed under Willow Pass Road in Concord led to one member of the group drawing an edged weapon of some type and wounding another member of the group, leaving deep lacerations to the victim’s arm and leg.

Police were in the area soon after the incident was reported at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, searching for a man reportedly armed with a sword of some type. No description of the assailant was immediately available.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with “serious” injuries.

    The suspect was identified as Rigoberto Moran of Concord. He is approximately 6’0 tall 205lbs brown hair mustache hispanic. If you have any info on the whereabouts of Rigoberto Moran contact CPD. He is armed and dangerous. Last seen in Pittsburg CA. He may be on the run in Los Angeles county or fled to Mexico. He is wanted for several charges including Mayhem assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
