Police in the San Ramon Valley are busy Sunday, dealing with a reported catalytic converter theft on Corrinne Court in San Ramon and a reported strong-arm robbery of power tools at the Camino Tassajara ACE Hardware store in Danville.

An earlier report that a shot was fired during the San Ramon theft proved unfounded, according to police.

The incident, reported at approximately 2:55 p.m. is still under active investigation as police search for an older model Ford Taurus believed to have been used in the attempted theft. News of a similar theft at a home on Winthrop Avenue has also reached this site.

Shortly after those incidents, employees at the Camino Tassajara ACE store reported the theft of power tools by two Asian men, both wearing Golden State Warrior jerseys, who slapped a cell phone a clerk was using to call police out of their hands, taking the device with them while fleeing the store.

The second incident was reported at 3:49 p.m. Police are looking for a tan, 2002 Chevy Trailblazer believed connected to that theft.
