A San Ramon man has been arrested and is facing charges in connection with an armed robbery on Lincoln Avenue in Walnut Creek Saturday night.

As we first reported officers responded to a call for help from a couple who said they’d been robbed by a suspect who brandished a pistol and stole a victim’s wallet, escaping in a black Lexus.

Walnut Creek police said Sunday their investigators identified the suspect as Nicholas Ostrovskiy, 18, of San Ramon. Detectives served a search and arrest warrant at Ostrovskiy’s residence, taking Ostrovskiy into custody.

A handgun used in this robbery was seized, police said. Ostrovskiy was transported to county jail.

Good to hear the Lexus Bandit has been apprehended. When I saw the headline, I thought ‘modern day Raskolnikov’, then I saw the perp had a Russian surname, and felt validated.
