One person was killed after losing control of his BMW and crashing into a tree on Camino Tassajara at Charbray around 11:32 p.m. Friday night.
Neighbors said they heard the sound of an engine revving followed by a “thunderous” crash as the vehicle wrapped around a tree at that location, trapping the driver inside.
Emergency personnel worked for more than an hour to free the so-far unidentified driver, who was taken by air ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was declared deceased early Saturday morning.
Evidence of alcohol use was found in the car but California Highway Patrol investigators have not yet said if its use contributed to the crash.
Didn’t sound good. Condolences.
Got your flash, heard the sirens and then the helicopter.
We were afraid of this. Was he racing someone or alone?
They called in the helo right to the scene. that’s when we knew it would be bad news.
thanks for alert
Ugh! I drove past it on way home from work! I saw glass everywhere and tons of emergency vehicles. I knew it was bad!
