Suspect In Livermore Shooting Death Apprehended

UPDATE: Police said their suspect, John Inocencio, was located by police in Elk Grove and apprehended there at about 1:45 p.m.

ORIGINAL POST: Livermore police investigators said a shooting in the 2700 block of Las Positas Road Wednesday was the end result of a longstanding feud between the suspect and victim.

Police say the fatal shot was fired at 4:06 a.m. with officers arriving at the location to find an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The unidentified victim was declared deceased at the scene, according to police.

After interviewing witnesses and evaluating evidence collected at the scene, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 30 year-old Johnathon Michael Inocencio of Livermore. Johnathan fled the scene in either a 2014 white Ford Explorer CA license plate 8LMY202 or a 2000 white and red Tioga motorhome CA license plate 7YYY693.

Both the suspect and victim are transient and reside in the creek area near the crime scene, police said.

So far in the investigation, it appears the suspect and victim were involved in a confrontation that led to Johnathon Inocencio shooting the victim multiple times in the upper torso.

Johnathon Inocencio is considered armed and dangerous. If he is seen by the public, we encourage people to call 911 immediately. 

Police said they are still in the very early stages in the investigation and actively interviewing additional witnesses.

  1. Getting shot at 4 a.m. in a Walmart parking lot. The police say it wasn’t gang related. At 4 a.m. – probably drug related.
