Family and friends have identified a 20-year-old Danville woman as the victim of a fiery, single-car crash east of the Saint Stephens Drive on-ramp in Orinda last week.

Friends Cassidie Abello died in the crash. A GoFundMe account built to raise money for Abello’s funeral expenses has so far garnered more than $6,000 for those costs.

Investigators said Abello apparently drove off westbound Highway 24 just east of the Saint Stephens on-ramp the evening of Aug. 2. Her car hit a tree, caught fire and was engulfed in flames.
