One Injured As Overnight Fire In Martinez Flares To 2- Alarms

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of fire on the balcony of a third-story apartment in the 3900 block of Alhambra Ave near K Street in the City of Martinez early Monday morning.

The blaze was reported a little after 4 a.m.. By 4:20 am, a 2-alarm response was called for with firefighters locating a burn victim who approached them outside the 3-story apartment complex.

Residents of adjacent apartments were evacuated by police and fire personnel. It appears the blaze was limited to the one apartment where the first was first reported.

An estimate of damage or cause was not immediately available.
