Police are looking for a man they say attempted to snatch a Rolex watch from its owner during an aborted Craigslist transaction at a San Ramon Starbucks around 10 a.m. Monday morning.

Police said the Starbucks in Magnolia Square was chosen as a meeting location for a Craigslist sale and the pictured suspect turned up to complete the deal – with things turning sour when he allegedly made a grab for the timepiece.

The victim only sustained a minor injury and was able to hang on to the watch, according to witnesses. The suspect was described as being 20 years old, 6′, 190 pounds. He was last seen getting into this vehicle, possibly a Nissan Rogue.

A watch was also taken during an incident in Danville earlier in the year.

  1. So you advertise on Craigslist, and this guy shows up at Starbucks as a potential “buyer.” In the words of Ann Landers, “wake up and smell the coffee.” All that’s missing is the paper plates.

  2. I don’t know….. public place. You think you’d be safe. But isn’t this why the police opened their parking lots to craiglist sellers and buyers?
