Saint Mary’s College Rugger Dies Following Training Run On Lafayette-Moraga Trail Friday
A sophomore player for the Saint Mary’s College rugby squad died after he was stricken while running with teammates on the Lafayette-Moraga Trail Friday.
This site Flashed a report of a medical emergency on the trail between Stafford Drive and the college at 1928 Saint Mary’s Road at approximately 4:15pm with a person down on the trail. First responders arrived to render life-saving measures but the player, subsequently identified as Dominic Peterson, 19, was ultimately declared deceased.
News of Peterson’s death rocked the college community and the close-knit rugby squad in particular.
“This is heartbreaking for our community and our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones,” the college wrote in a social media post. “Dominic’s smile was contagious and one that would brighten a room when he entered. He always gave 100% effort and encouraged those around him to do the same.”

It’s grammatically correct but an interesting very choice – I definitely though he was struck by vehicle in my first read.
Thanks for very checking but, yes… and we don’t get many (any?) vehicle strikes on the LafMoraga Trail.
