Rollover Crash Resonates In Walnut Creek Early Saturday; Occupants Flee

Walnut Creek residents were awakened by the sound of a crash and grinding metal early Saturday morning when a car rolled and slid on its roof towards a Jeep parked at N. California Boulevard and Cypress Street at 1:09am.

Witnesses investigating the source of the crash found that the involved car had upended while traveling north on N. California, taken out a stretch of fencing and then slid on its roof toward the apparently very unlucky Jeep before coming to a semi-miraculous stop.

The few folks up and out at that hour watched as two people made their way out of the Turtled wreck and fled the scene. Officers arrived to investigate.

Veteran readers know we tend to develop names for various types of incidents we encounter out there and our guy dubbed this one a Turtle Surfer – the first part our name for a rollover crash, with the second half describing the roof slide.

We’ve had no word on whether the occupants of the involved car ultimately turned up or not… and no word if the owner of that Jeep decided to stretch their luck at a local casino afterward.
