Danville Standoff Shuts Down Neighborhood, Local School Tuesday

We started fielding calls from anxious parents and neighbors at about 3:20pm Tuesday after a barricaded subject call in Danville turned into a full-on standoff with SWAT teams, an armored car, drones and lots more police in the area of Camino Ramon and San Thomas Way.

Camino Ramon was closed to through traffic as negotiations with a man reportedly armed and unwilling to leave the residence commenced in earnest, neighbors watching as more and more police and gear rolled into the area. A local school invoked its lockdown protocol during the negotiations, which lasted a couple of hours.

Neighbors reported seeing a man exiting the home and being taken into custody. We’ve had no official confirmation of the arrest or what, if any, charges may be brought as a result of the action.

Multiple jurisdictions were involved in this action but so far NONE of them have advised us of their part in the incident.

We are not aware of any injuries relative to this action but will update this story should that information change.
