Pedestrian Killed In Martinez Thursday

The California Highway Patrol is reporting that a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at Pacheco Boulevard and Morello Avenue resulted in fatal injuries for the pedestrian Thursday.

Witnesses reported the crash at 5:18 p.m. Officers determined that a 28-year-old Martinez woman had been struck by a Chevrolet truck at Pacheco Boulevard and Wygal Drive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not injured, remained at the scene and was cooperative throughout the investigation, according to the CHP. Officers said the victim was not in a designated crosswalk and for reasons unknown was walking across Pacheco Boulevard when she was struck.
