A significant police presence is currently in the area. This site has been unable to confirm a report that a weapon was recovered from the abandoned car shortly after it was located. One person was detained almost immediately after the chase ended adjacent to Highway 24.

A second suspect was found on the second floor of an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard and detained at gunpoint.

The car was being pursued by Walnut Creek police officers when it developed engine and tire trouble and was abandoned by its occupants.

We were having dinner in Walnut Creek when your alerts started coming in. We said something about a search in Lafayette and the nice people at the table next to us asked what’s that about Lafayette?!? Pretty soon they were sitting with us but they probably signed up for alerts with you. Sounded pretty wild out there – glad no local residents were hurt.

Well, since Newsom wants to shorten the probation terms of convicted criminals (by about 60%) in this state, it doesn’t matter if you’re arrested or not. The “feelings” of the criminals and “alleged stigma” of the felons is more important to liberals than justice. A slap on the wrist is all they’ll get anyway.
