Police working the disturbing case of a sexual assault on a child in a public restroom at Golden Gate Park last week announced the arrest of a suspect Thursday in Pleasant Hill.
Few details of the arrest were forthcoming, though San Francisco police said the 19-year-old suspect – a resident of San Francisco – was taken into custody following an unspecified tip from a parent, surveillance of the suspect and conclusion of DNA testing.
The suspect’s name, place of arrest was not provided by police.
Police opened their investigation following an assault on a minor child using a public restroom during soccer practice at the Polo Fields at Golden Gate Park.
The unnamed suspect was booked Thursday into San Francisco Jail on felony charges including kidnapping, sexual battery, and sexual battery on a minor.
