Two women were found dead in a home in the 100 block of Kelobra Court in Walnut Creek early Friday – minutes after police responded to a call reporting a crime at the residence and after the home’s owner said he opened fire on an intruder dressed in all black as the man was trying to flee the residence.

The killings were the second double homicide to occur in the 24/680 Thursday night, with another taking place in Antioch at approximately 10:21p.m. Two other people were wounded, one critically.

The Kelobra Court homeowner, identified as Howard Wang, 43, of Walnut Creek, was taken into custody and is being held without bail in connection with the murders of the pair, believed to be relatives of Wang, who were found dead inside the residence – their throats cut.

The couple’s twin daughters, age 8, were also home at the time.

Wang reportedly met officers arriving to a call for help and possible shots fired at the home at approximately 11:40 p.m. Thursday, informing them the two female relatives had been killed and that he had opened fire on an intruder dressed in black he discovered inside the residence.

Police brought in drones and mounted an extensive search of the area for the alleged intruder while other officers conducted a room-to-room search of the residence, eventually finding the bodies of two women in an undisclosed portion of the home. The alleged intruder was not found.

While the precise manner of death was not provided, early reports were that the women had been stabbed.

  2. The resident fired his gun at a mystery man dressed all in black and two female relatives were found stabbed? Am I the only one who thinks there is no mystery man, and the shooter is also the stabber?

    • That about sums it up, sir, yes. Crossing our fingers that “everything bad always comes in threes” maxim doesn’t pan out…
