Police have arrested a Fairfield man in connection with the burglary and theft of credit cards from two Lafayette schools as well as the recovery of evidence from theft cases in seven other cities and counties.

Lafayette police investigators were able to identify a suspect vehicle and the suspect in the local thefts and, along with officers and deputies from Vacaville PD, Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Dublin PD, and Danville PD, executed a series of search warrants at three separate residences ending in the arrest of Christopher Britton, 34, of Fairfield on April 25.

Investigators said they recovered significant evidence and items believed to be linked to other ongoing investigations during execution of the warrants. Britton is currently being held in Marin County Jail, held on suspicion of numerous counts of credit card fraud, identity theft, and burglary.

Local investigators said colleagues from other agencies had also focused on Britton when the decision to collaborate on the case was made.
