Man Arrested At Walnut Creek BART After Brandishing Pistol Tuesday

A man seen behaving erratically at the Walnut Creek BART station Tuesday was subsequently arrested after he allegedly brandished a pistol while threatening a bus driver.

Zion E. Brown, 21, was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly tried to hide a Glock 17 pistol with an extended magazine on the BART platform. Transit and Walnut Creek police moved in to make the arrest.

Brown was arrested on an array of weapons-related charges and is currently being held on $365,000 bail.

  1. This guy should be kept off the streets as he is a menace to a civilized society. A Glock with an extended magazine is a VERY serious charge. This would qualify as an enhancement. Wonder what criminal background he has. Don’t think this is his first rodeo. Afraid we will be hearing about him in the future. Hope the courts do their due diligence.

      That depends. The extended magazine by itself is just a misdemeanor / infraction “wobbler,” so not really that serious. The Glock, if carried concealed without a permit, is just a misdemeanor — unless it turns out to be stolen or otherwise not lawfully possessed by the suspect, which could make it a felony if DA Becton doesn’t make a plea deal for a lower level charge. I’d say odds of the gun being stolen / otherwise not lawfully possessed are better than even here.
