Driver Detained Following Early-Morning Pursuit In Danville Saturday

The driver of a car allegedly attempting to elude police early Saturday morning was detained after he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole on the Sycamore Valley Road overpass in Danville.

The incident was reported at approximately 12:20 a.m., with Danville police attempting to contact the operator of a GMC on Diablo Road at southbound I-680 when the driver abruptly sped away.

An officer was attempting to catch up to the car when it crashed at the southbound Sycamore Valley Road overpass, hitting a light pole.

The 22-year-old driver was detained, an ambulance called to evaluate his injuries and California Highway Patrol officers were contacted to investigate the officer-involved pursuit and crash.

  1. What was he running from? Does he have warrants for his arrest? Drug dealer with guns? The fact is the place is crawling with criminals that should be in jail!

    • Don’t believe we’re dealing with Dillinger but he definitely wasn’t eager to speak with police.

      You can usually pick from the same bushel of reasons.
