An 18-year-old Stockton man was arrested on an array of charges following an attempted burglary on Crescent Drive in Walnut Creek shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Isaiah Taylor of Stockton was reportedly spotted climbing over a prospective victim’s home while wearing mask and gloves, according to a release issued by the Walnut Creek police department.

A witness allegedly saw Taylor climb over the victim’s fence and into the backyard, exiting a short time later and leaving the area in a blue Chevy sedan.

According to the WCPD release, officers arrived within minutes and located the blue Chevy parked on Carriage Drive. WCPD K9 Officer Chelsea Douglass and her K9 partner Timber contacted Taylor, who was in the driver’s seat of the Chevy. Officers eventually determined that Taylor was the man who climbed the fence and attempted to enter a residence. When Officer Douglas searched Taylor’s car, she reportedly found a loaded firearm on the front driver’s seat.

Taylor was arrested on suspicion of attempted residential burglary, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of burglary tools. He was transported to the county jail in Martinez on $50,000 bail, according to police.

    • Maybe they heard that our CC County DA does not prosecute these crimes if done ‘out of need’ .so there’s less risk of jail time here, vs. the Central Valley.

    • Agreed and why we thought it worthy of mention. Photo reportedly taken in Martinez very distressing if proven accurate.

  1. You mention “crews” of burglars yet these two latest instances appear to be one offs with one person doing the stealing?

    • Right, Lucille. We know of at least three crews currently at work in the area, though they rotate between here and other towns/cities. And that’s not to say that there aren’t a lot of “independent contractors.”
