ATM Thieves Denied Kwik Stop-Stop In Lafayette

Employees flushed two ski-masked men allegedly breaking into an ATM machine at the Kwik Stop location on Golden Gate Way this morning, triggering a widespread police response and apparently pushing the pair south to San Ramon – where they allegedly tried the same thing there.

The incident first came to our attention at approximately 7:20 a.m., the masked pair – apparently carrying some type of saw – fleeing when confronted and running for a nearby vehicle.

The pair reportedly made a clean getaway as local officers searched for them. There was a report of a subsequent ATM break-in a short time later in San Ramon but that could not immediately be confirmed.
