Two people were confirmed dead and two others injured after an early morning crash on Highway 4 east of McEwen Road Saturday.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:41 a.m. with a blue SUV veering off the highway, down an embankment and into a tree. Witnesses reported seeing the afflicted vehicle driving erratically just prior to crashing in the eastbound lanes. Two men were seen attempting to flag down traffic before police arrived.
Two passengers in the vehicle were found dead inside. Highway Patrol officers said the pair were not wearing seat belts.
