The Martinez Police Department is actively investigating a series of incidents involving window smashes at offices and businesses downtown. The department announced that one person had been arrested in connection with at least one incident Wednesday.
Police said the person, whose name, age, or hometown was not given, had been arrested on suspicion of an earlier burglary at the County Recorder’s Office on Escobar Street.
In a brief statement posted to the department’s Facebook page, police said detectives are working to determine who is behind similar recent incidents in the downtown area.
Their investigation is continuing, police said.
Random vandalism or all burglarys?
