Three Suspects On Foot In Lafayette After Vehicle Pursuit, Crash Wednesday

SHARE

Lafayette police are currently trying to corral three suspects who crashed their car into another vehicle and fled toward Old Tunnel Road minutes after police terminated a pursuit on Highway 24 Wednesday.

Police were behind a car on 24 at around 3:25 p.m. when it sped away. Officers terminated the pursuit due to traffic on the highway at the time but the car crashed on its own and three black males, all apparently in their late teens or early 20s, fled into the neighborhood.

One reader said he spotted the three walking across Old Tunnel Road, one of the three with “bleached dreadlocks.”

There was no immediate word on injuries among occupants of the car that was hit.

An East Bay Regional Park District and sheriff’s helicopter are overhead.

All three suspects are at large at this time 3:54 p.m.

UPDATE: Suspect detained after being challenged by homeowner at Condit and Kelly (4:05 p.m.).

2nd suspect detained (4:13 p.m.) behind 26 Sanford Lane.

Third suspect believed to be wearing all black with white shoes.
