Livermore police officers responded to 985 E. Stanley Boulevard Monday after receiving reports that a shooting had just taken place at that location. Officers located a 16-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical care, police said.

The 16-year-old victim male succumbed to his injures early the morning of July 9, according to police, and an investigation into the shooting revealed that a weapon was drawn and fired during a verbal altercation between the suspect and victim with the suspect – later identified as 21-year-old Jorge Luis Tellez of Livermore – fleeing the scene.

A search warrant served at Tellez’ Livermore residence by the Livermore PD SWAT team determined that Tellez was not at the residence and is still outstanding, police said.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Jorge Luis Tellez and he is wanted for murder. Jorge Tellez should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees Jorge Tellez, they should immediately notify law enforcement immediately.
