Shoplifting Flurry Gets Messy In San Ramon Wednesday – Dog Bite, Foot Races With Police At Target

SHARE

In what has become an almost daily event in the 24/680 of late, a crew of suspected thieves targeting Apple Computer products at the Target Store in San Ramon were brought up short by a police K9 and gun-toting police.

The incident was reported (as near as we can figure) at about 5:55 p.m. when employees at Target spotted individuals tinkering with Apple products in the electronics department of the store.

Witnesses are saying the suspects left the store by a side entrance and dispersed as San Ramon police arrived on the scene. One subject was bitten by a police dog as he attempted to flee the scene, a second was taken into custody at gunpoint near the San Ramon Marriott location.

No officers or other civilians were believed injured. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the store.

And, yes, we know we have used this introductory scene from Trainspotting before – but it seems appropriate for stories of this type.
