Fire Severely Damages Pacheco Home Saturday

A Pacheco home was seriously damaged by fire Saturday, firefighters from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District met by heavy smoke and fire upon arrival at a single story residence at 1000 Temple Dr.

The fire, reported at 5:45 p.m., appeared to have been well under way and was burning to the roof when firefighters arrived. The occupants of the home made it safely outside and no injuries were reported.

Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the California Highway Patrol were called out to help with traffic control at the scene of the blaze, with hard road closures remaining in effect long after the fire was first reported.

There was no immediate word as to the cause of the blaze.
