Martinez police arrested a local man for a series of crimes reported by residents on Sheree Court Sunday, identifying their suspect as 43-year-old Christopher Blake of Martinez.
Police responding to a call from an alert homeowner in the 600 block of Sheree around 7:45 a.m. were informed of a man entering cars in the area and possibly stealing property and reportedly located Blake in the side yard of a local home.
As officers were investigating the vehicle burglaries, police said a home owner also living in the 600 block of Sheree told police they had interrupted a person allegedly stealing property from their living room. The victim told police she yelled for her husband and the suspect fled the home. Blake was positively identified as the suspect committing the residential burglary and theft from the vehicles, officers said, Blake making entry into the home after stealing the house key from a vehicle parked in front of the residence. All property was recovered, according to police.
Blake is currently on parole for robbery. He was arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property, petty theft and violating parole. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
Additional Victim/Witnesses are asked to call Corporal Ryan Baillie. 925-372-3440.
correct me if I’m wrong but it seems like this man did what so many like him do: pick an area and then steal everything they can steal there. But how did he get the house keys? They were in the car?
