Danville PD Looking For Witness To Sunday’s Pipe Bomb Explosion

Danville PD would like to talk with this man about a pipe bombing incident Sunday.

Danville Police are encouraging a potential witness in a Sunday incident at the Smart & Final parking lot to contact authorities.

Chief Allan Shields said investigators are looking to speak to a man who may have witnessed events leading up to the explosion of a small pipe bomb May 27, 2018, that caused minor damage to two vehicles.

The witness is described as a white male, approximately 5’10” – 6’0” tall, around 240 – 250 pounds, driving a white sedan. The vehicle could be a Jaguar X-type car.

    • Why, yes, Doug – we do. (Nudging drowsy reporter to our left: “Did you know there are people out there who know how to make bombs?” Drowsy Scribbler: “Sure.”) We are aware, yes.

    • No way for us to say, Nicky, as we didn’t get a look at the device. We’re sure the pros are looking at the detonator for some clue as to intent/builder.
